A Tradition Unlike Any Other
It's that time of year again when a small town in Georgia becomes the center of the golf universe and the sports world. Since I was a little kid every year the Masters has held a special place for me as it is on my bucket list to play Augusta.
My first vivid memory of The Masters, was 1997 when Tiger Woods tore the top off and won his first green jacket by 12 strokes. Ever since that day Tiger has been my favorite golfer. Its been a lot of highs ever since, but the lows have been pretty low. As Tiger looks to regain his form at the Majors, not having won a major since 2008, I'm hopeful that he is ready to conquer the course again.
The field this year is a quite good field, with past winners and many runner's up looking to grab a green jacket. I think many golfers have a good shot at winning this year, besides Tiger, Justin Rose seems to be a favorite of the announcers as he has been playing well. For me my dark horse is Adam Scott, he has played consistently in the past couple majors, coming close in the Masters and British Open. I think he could get hot and win this year. Others who could win include past winners: Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson and Zach Johnson. Golfers looking for there first green jacket include: Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar.
With the field so strong no matter who is on top through moving day, it looks like this weekend could end up being a competitive sunday, and thats exactly what I'm hoping for.
